Getting started with MakeMyIdea

MakeMyIdea is a set of browser tools for 3D printing. Nothing to install: open a tool, type your numbers or drop in a file, and download what you need.

Your account

• One login for every tool. Sign up once and every tool knows who you are.
• Free tools stay free. No card needed. Some tools have a monthly allowance on the free plan, shown in the tool itself.
• Your dashboard lists every tool you can open, how much of each allowance you've used this month, and your recent work.

Where your work is saved

• On the free plan, saved designs and reports stay in the browser you made them in. Clearing your browser data removes them.
• On a paid plan, they're saved to your account and follow you to any device. When you upgrade, the tool offers to move what's in your browser into your account.

Getting around a tool

Every tool page has the same bar at the top:

• ← takes you back to all your tools (the dashboard).
• The tool's name opens a list of every tool, so you can jump straight to another one.
• Help opens that tool's guide, questions and updates.

Help and updates

• Each tool has a Guide, a FAQ and an Updates page. You'll find them as tabs on the tool's page.
• The changelog lists every change to the site and the tools, newest first.
• Supported printers lists the printers our 3MF downloads are set up for.
