# Getting started with MakeMyIdea

MakeMyIdea is a set of browser tools for 3D printing. Nothing to install: open a tool, type your numbers or drop in a file, and download what you need.

## Your account

- **One login for every tool.** Sign up once and every tool knows who you are.
- **Free tools stay free.** No card needed. Some tools have a monthly allowance on the free plan, shown in the tool itself.
- **Your dashboard** lists every tool you can open, how much of each allowance you've used this month, and your recent work.

## Where your work is saved

- **On the free plan**, saved designs and reports stay in the browser you made them in. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- **On a paid plan**, they're saved to your account and follow you to any device. When you upgrade, the tool offers to move what's in your browser into your account.

## Getting around a tool

Every tool page has the same bar at the top:

- **←** takes you back to all your tools (the dashboard).
- **The tool's name** opens a list of every tool, so you can jump straight to another one.
- **Help** opens that tool's guide, questions and updates.

## Help and updates

- Each tool has a **Guide**, a **FAQ** and an **Updates** page. You'll find them as tabs on the tool's page.
- The [changelog](/changelog) lists every change to the site and the tools, newest first.
- [Supported printers](/printers) lists the printers our 3MF downloads are set up for.
